Two agricultural specialists. One move across the mountains. Twenty-six years of serving Nepal's farmers, one genuine product at a time.
Founded by two people who understand the land
Devi Lal Subedi (CEO) and Ambika Subedi (COO) are both holders of agricultural licences issued under Nepal's regulatory framework and are registered veterinary specialists. In Nepal, operating an agro-vet that stocks and sells veterinary medicines legally requires licensing from the Department of Drug Administration (DDA) under the Drugs Act 2035 (1978), registration with the Nepal Veterinary Council, and compliance with cold-chain storage for vaccines and temperature-sensitive products.
This isn't just paperwork. It means every product on our shelf has been sourced through authorised channels, stored correctly, and can be backed by professional advice. When a dairy farmer asks which calcium supplement to use for a post-calving buffalo, or a poultry farmer needs guidance on a vaccination schedule, they're speaking to people who trained for this, not just shopkeepers.

A fresh start in Chitwan
Devi Lal Subedi and Ambika Subedi, both licensed agricultural professionals and veterinary specialists, left their home in Syangja, Gandaki Province. They moved to Bharatpur, Chitwan, Nepal's agricultural heartland, and opened a modest agro-vet counter with a simple promise: genuine medicines, honest advice, fair prices.

Earning trust, one farmer at a time
Word spread. Farmers knew that what they bought here was authentic, and that Devi Lal and Ambika would sit with them to explain the right product for the right animal or crop, not just sell whatever was on the shelf. The couple held valid DDA licensing and Nepal Veterinary Council credentials, which meant the shop could legally stock and advise on veterinary medicines, vaccines, and controlled agricultural inputs.

Wholesale begins
Neighbouring agrovets in Chitwan and beyond began requesting stock in bulk. What started as a retail counter grew into a wholesale operation, with cartons loaded onto night buses to district towns across the Terai and hills. Manakamana Vet Center became a trusted distribution point.
- 2010s
50+ veterinary brands, 100+ agricultural lines
Partnerships with national and international pharmaceutical and agricultural companies grew steadily. The product range expanded from core veterinary medicines into feed, supplements, poultry equipment, seeds, crop protection chemicals, and farm tools. Chitwan's booming poultry and dairy industries brought a wave of commercial farmers who needed a reliable one-stop supplier.

26 years and counting
Manakamana Vet Center is one of the established agro-vet wholesalers in the Bharatpur market, serving retail customers at the counter and supplying wholesale stock to agrovets across multiple districts. Devi Lal leads the business as CEO; Ambika runs operations as COO. The same principle holds: genuine products, real expertise, and a handshake you can trust.
Why Chitwan?
Chitwan District is Nepal's agricultural powerhouse. Bharatpur, its metropolitan center, is a major commercial hub where agro-based industries, dairy farming, poultry, and livestock trade drive the local economy. Agrovet shops are the single most common source of agricultural information for smallholder farmers in the district.
Moving here in 2000 wasn't a guess. It was a calculated decision by two people who understood where Nepal's farming future was being built. Bharatpur now hosts the Nepal Agritech International Expo and is home to the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS), one of Nepal's premier agricultural education institutions. Manakamana Vet Center grew alongside this ecosystem.
